COSTLY GUITAR-
“Blackie”, Eric Clapton’s favorite mid-career modified Strat has been surpassed in value and is no longer the most expensive guitar ever, despite that it was bought for $950,000 USD in 2004 by a guitar archaeologist.
The latest most expensive electric guitar in the world dethroned its predecessor at an auction in Doha, Qatar on November 16th, 2005. The Strat was signed by several rock musicians to benefit a tsunami charity, ‘Reach out to Asia’. It was bought one year ago by Qatar’s royal family for a million dollars and donated back to the Asia Program, bringing in $2.7 million USD at the more recent auction, whose attendees included Former President Bill Clinton. Technically, the guitar has generated a total of $3.7 million USD, making it the most expensive guitar yet.
Signees of this expensive electric guitar included Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, Mark Knopfler, Ray Davis, Liam Gallagher, Ronnie Wood, Tony Iommi, Angus & Malcolm Young, Paul McCartney, Sting, Ritchie Blackmore, Def Leppard, and Bryan Adams, the coordinator of the project.

COSTLY WATER BOTTLE -
The water is bottled in Dandridge, Tennessee, probably the least note-able quality of the most expensive bottled water. Boyd’s approach to the bottled water market is as extreme as the limited edition bottles themselves. They come frosted, corked, and boasting hand-applied Swarovski crystal. Bling H20 boasts that it has won the gold medal at the Berkely Springs International Water Tasting Festival with its nine-step purification process. If you are a water elitist, be prepared to spend $40-60 for a 750ml bottle. If you are buying your expensive bottled water at a club, be prepared to spend more.

If you are looking for an excuse to buy expensive water, and enjoy helping a good cause, there is another expensive bottle of water that may be more your style. Charity Water is currently being sold for $480 a case with all of the proceeds funding freshwater well projects in Ethiopia, Uganda, Central African Republic and Malawi. One case of water will provide enough clean water for twenty-four people for fifteen years.

COSTLY GIFT CARD-

Those of us who don’t have $5,000,000 to spare on the world’s most expensive gift card can take comfort, though, in knowing that we can still give our loved ones Amazon gift certificates for up to $5,000.

COSTLY AIRPORT-
Currently, the most expensive airport is Hong Kong International Airport, located on Chek Lap Kok island in (surprisingly enough) Hong Kong. With over 47 million passengers in 2007, HKIA is also one of the world’s busiest airports. Passengers may fly in or out via a number of airlines, including Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Express, Air Hong Kong and many others with “Hong Kong” in their names. For its $20 billion construction, the airport was awarded a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the new record-breaking aerotropolis is being constructed in Dubai. Dubai World Central International, being constructed south of Dubai near Jebel Ali, will cost $33 billion for its infrastructure alone. The plans call for an airfield that can accommodate the latest superjumbo jets, hotels, shopping malls, two 18-hole golf courses and a residential city that can house 750,000 people. Of course, this sort of project takes a lot of time to complete and DWC is no exception. It isn’t expected to be operational until 2017. By that time, yet another record-breaking airport project may be started.

COSTLY PRINTER-
To celebrate the four million dollar sales mark of its HP1160 Laser Printer in Middle Eastern markets, Hewlett Packard gave one model the golden treatment. Covered in 24-karat gold, this luxurious version of the top-selling office printer was displayed at the Gitex IT exhibition in 2006. The most expensive printer does not feature any special bells or whistles; it’s simply covered in gold… and some silver.
The Gitex 2006 IT convention, considered to be one of the top three Information Technology conventions in the world, is an important gateway to the technology markets of the Middle East with over 1,200 exhibitors representing 2,274 Companies from 61 Countries. The convention was the perfect place for HP to display their expensive laser printer.
This particularly expensive computer accessory is said to be fully functional. One would hope so, since the world’s most expensive printer carries an estimated value of around $20,000. HP plans to auction the golden computer printer off for charity. If you are in the market for a printer worth 20 grand, you might be interested in the most expensive mouse, mouse-pad or keyboard so you can assemble the most expensive PC rig.

COSTLY MOUSE-
Now produce the world’s most expensive computer mouse. The costly peripheral is cast from 18 carat white gold and set with 59 brilliant cut diamonds, and will only set you back £12,400 ($24,180 USD). The most expensive mouse utilizes a modern 3-button wheel optical mouse design, options for USB or PS/2 connections for either PC or Mac, a 800 dpi Resolution, and a 3 year warranty.
The expensive mouse comes in two designs, “Diamond Flower” and the “Scattered Diamond” layout. You can bling out and personalize the most expensive computer mouse by adding your initials in diamonds, and can choose from yellow, red or white gold with white or black trim.

COSTLY DESKTOP COMPUTER-
Jupiter features a case made of platinum and encrusted with jewels arranged in the shapes of constellations. As for the hardware, Jupiter features Intel’s 3GHz E6850 Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB of DDR 2 memory, a 1TB hard drive and a dual Blu-Ray/HD DVD drive. The world’s most expensive desktop PC has been released in Japan, where it can be purchased for ¥80,000,000 ($748,720 USD). Of course, if you’re on a tight budget then you could opt for gold instead of platinum, reducing the price to ¥60,000,000 ($561,540).

COSTLY KEYBOARD-
Most people use whatever keyboard comes with their desktop PC and only buy a keyboard as a replacement when the inevitable cup of hot coffee is spilled onto the keys. Some prefer split keyboards, or soft-touch keyboards. Other that type prefer the old-school clanks of their first keyboards. Many of the more expensive keyboards are now wireless because many people when given the choice will lean back and type with a keyboard in their lap.
CNET’s blog recently featured an affiliate of Fujitsu, PFU Ltd of Ishikawa, Japan which is producing the most expensive PC keyboard ever to be used for typing. The price for this expensive computer keyboard is a grand sum of 500,000 yen or about US $4,240.
Named the Happy Hacking Keyboard Professional HP Japan, the keys are handcoated with a Urushi lacquer. This made to order keyboard is coated many times and then powdered with gold dust.

COSTLY COLLEGE-
George Washington University in Washington, DC, is the most expensive college in the US. What we didn’t tell you, however, was that GW is also the most expensive university in the world. The university—known for its undergraduate liberal arts programs and its graduate programs in social sciences, international affairs, law, et cetera—was originally funded by a stipulation in George Washington’s will that fifty shares of the Potomac Company be used to support his long-held desire that the District of Columbia should be home to such an institution. While the shares didn’t turn out to be worth much, Washington’s wishes were eventually carried out by Baptist minister Luther Rice, who purchased land on Meridian Hill for the project.
Today, the university is located a mere four blocks from the White House. Tuition for the 2007-2008 school year, $39,240, is largely mitigated by the fact that GW provides the most need-based aid in the country; the average freshman received a package of around $23,466 this year. Even so, the school’s new president is working to make the world’s most expensive college more affordable to incoming students.
Surprisingly enough (or perhaps not), the top five most expensive colleges in the world are all US institutions: Kenyon College in Ohio ($38,140), Bucknell University in Pennsylvania ($38,134) and New York’s Vassar College ($38,115) and Sarah Lawrence College ($38,090).

EXPENSIVE ICECREAME-
The most expensive ice cream sundae in the world is called the “Grand Opulence” Sundae and was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Manhattan restaurant Serendipity 3. Serendipity 3 celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2004 and decided to create the world’s most expensive ice cream sundae as a publicity stunt.
Serendipity describes the Golden Opulence Sundae as follows: “5 scoops of the richest Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23K edible gold leaf, the sundae is drizzled with the world’s most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porceleana, and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela’s coast. The masterpiece is suffused with exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold dragets, truffles and Marzipan Cherries. It is topped with a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar, made of salt-free American Golden caviar, known for its sparkling golden color. It’s sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac.
he sundae is served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18K gold spoon to partake in the indulgence, served with a petite mother of pearl spoon and topped with a gilded sugar flower.

COSTLY BLUETOOTH-
Amosu’s Diamond MotoPure H12 is based on Motorola’s standard H12 headset. The expensive headset filters out background noise using by using two microphones, features three interchangeable ear cushions for maximum comfort and even the standard edition is made of premium materials. The front of the Diamond H12 is made of your choice of 18 karat white or yellow gold and set with 184 diamonds (3.47 ct. total). You even have the choice to opt for white, pink or black diamonds.
Only 100 of the world’s most expensive Bluetooth headsets will be made. They cost around $12,000 and potential owners must wait around three weeks for delivery.

COSTLY iPHONE CASE-
The Case-mate Diamond Case, the most expensive iPhone case in the world, is 18K gold set with 42 diamonds (3.5 carats). The diamonds are VVS1 clarity, which is only two grades down from “Flawless” according to the Gemological Institute of America, and H color, which actually means they lack color. The handcrafted case is also made with Carbon Fiber leather, more commonly used in high end aftermarket cars. Well, maybe “commonly” isn’t the best word.
The world’s most expensive iPhone case will set you back $20,000 unless you were the lucky person who was given one for free at Macworld. Expected delivery time is 4-6 weeks, but shipping is free.

COSTLY POOL TABLE-
The Luxury Billiard is a 117-by-67-inch table with a 100-by-50-inch playing surface made of Iwan Simonis 860, the same cloth used on tables at any major billiards event. Surprisingly, the sights—a. k. a. “diamonds”—on the most expensive billiards table aren’t made with diamonds. You heard that right—someone actually managed to resist the urge to deck out an ultra-luxury item in precious gems. Instead, they’re inlayed with gold or platinum. Gold or platinum are also used in leaf-form to create the exquisite pattern on the table’s legs.
The Luxury Billiard is just as functional as it is beautiful. It features an automated drawer that can hold a set of pool cues and balls. Additionally, the triangle is built into the table so that you need only push on it—like the CD-ROM drive on a laptop—to eject it from the table.
The most expensive pool table in the world can be had for a mere $177,000. It comes in three models—Noblesse (18k gold), Majesté and Royal (platinum)—but custom configurations are available.
